Today’s Dr Kleinfeld CEC (Corporate Excellence Consultancy) has its roots in the predecessor Bickmann & Collegen Consultancy. Roland Bickmann founded his consultancy in 1986 and based it upon the concepts of corporate identity and corporate culture. As an associate, Dr Annette Kleinfeld added to the consultancy her knowledge and her experience of corporate ethics. The team at Dr. Kleinfeld CEC continues to build upon this foundation of knowledge and experience – developing modern approaches for a holistic management consultancy to ensure the long term success of our client companies.

Roland Bickmann founded his consultancy, based on the concepts of corporate identity and corporate culture so early as the mid-1980s. He pioneered work in the area of identity and culture consultancy and laid the foundation for our holistic management consultancy which puts the emphasis on the human being.
In 1998, Dr Annette Kleinfeld contributed her knowledge of business ethics as an associate to Bickmann & Collegen consultancy. Annette Kleinfeld and Roland Bickmann created a successful synthesis of corporate ethics and corporate identity which in the context of management consulting involves ethical value orientations for cooperation. Today, this is called compliance or CSR management.
After the unexpected death of Roland Bickmann in 2004, Annette Kleinfeld founded Dr. Kleinfeld & Partners Corporate Excellence Consultancy. In doing so, she also offered the remaining employees future prospects. Building on the knowledge and many years of professional experience of Bickmann & Collegen consultancy, Annette Kleinfeld and her team around Anke Kettler continuously developed their consulting approach and the range of services on offer.
In 2004 and 2005, the entire Dr Kleinfeld & Partner team developed its mission statement: The starting point of the continuously pursued strategy process and value management. Periodically, self assessments according to the EFQM model are carried out and the quantitative and qualitative successes of the strategy implementation are tracked by an Excellence Scorecard. The team is working according to concrete conduct and management principles and a Code of Conduct tailored to their own requirements (called "CEC Konkret").
In 2006 Dr Kleinfeld CEC GmbH & Co. KG was founded – a result of a continuous striving for Corporate Excellence.
Following a move to the city centre, a growth in the number of employees and intensified strategic cooperation in networks, Anke Kettler (Degree in Business) was appointed Managing Director next to Annette Kleinfeld in 2007.
Dr. Kleinfeld CEC assumes responsibility – as manifested in the management of family and working life. Flexible working hours and the possibility of online working embody the recognition and appreciation of employees’ private lives and the promotion of a manageable work-life balance. In 2008, Dr. Kleinfeld CEC was consequently awarded the Hamburger Familiensiegel for its achievements in this field (submitting itself to external audits to this end).
Dr. Kleinfeld CEC regularly works with interns and sets great store by internships which are mutually beneficial to the company as well as to the interns themselves. Interns are paid a fair wage and are promoted individually for them to learn as much as possible for their professional future. For such an attitude, Dr. Kleinfeld CEC received the "Fair Company" seal of approval from the magazine "Junge Karriere" (Young Careers) produced by "Handelsblatt" publishing group.
